Beginner Rule
Respect Alistar when he walks forward — he's often looking to engage with Headbutt (W) and Pulverize (Q).
Alistar is a tank support who excels at starting fights and locking enemies down. He wants to use Headbutt (W) and Pulverize (Q) together to knock targets into the air and create easy engages for his team. Many beginners underestimate how quickly Alistar can engage when he walks forward.
Level 2 – Gains access to combo engage.
Level 6 – Ultimate makes him extremely difficult to kill.
Mid Game Teamfights – Excels at starting fights.

QWhat it does
Smashes the ground dealing AoE damage and tossing nearby enemies into the air.
How to play against
His W-Q combo happens in under half a second. If he headbutts into you, immediately sidestep before the Q launches you.
WWhat it does
Headbutts a target dealing damage and knocking them directly away from him.
How to play against
He uses W to push you away or to position himself next to you for Q. If he headbutts you into a wall the combo is devastating — don't stand near walls.
EWhat it does
Tramples nearby enemies building stacks. At max stacks his next auto on a champion stuns and deals bonus magic damage.
How to play against
He stacks E passively just by being near you. Back away before he gets full stacks — the empowered stun opens up his full combo.
RWhat it does
Removes all CC from himself and reduces incoming physical and magical damage for several seconds.
How to play against
Don't waste CC or burst while his ult is active. All your damage is heavily reduced. Wait for it to expire.

Triumphant Roar: he charges his roar by stunning or displacing champions, or when nearby enemies die. At full charge he heals himself and nearby allies. He wants to trade CC for free healing — don't let him proc it freely.
