Tank / Mage
Beginner Rule
Be careful fighting near Galio's teammates — Hero's Entrance (R) can quickly turn the fight.
Galio is a tanky mage who excels at punishing aggressive engages and protecting teammates. He wants to lock enemies down with Shield of Durand (W) before following up with crowd control and burst damage. Many beginners underestimate how much damage Galio can deal while building defensively.
Level 6 – Global ultimate unlocks map pressure.
First Item – Gains durability and burst.

QWhat it does
Fires two convergent windblasts that form a tornado dealing damage over time where they meet.
How to play against
The tornado forms at their convergence point. Sidestep before the two blasts cross — the tornado is stationary afterward.
WWhat it does
Charges a defensive taunt. When released it taunts nearby enemies for a short duration.
How to play against
Don't auto attack him while he's charging W — you'll be taunted and walk helplessly into him. Back away from the charge animation.
EWhat it does
Steps back briefly then charges forward in a straight line, knocking up the first champion hit.
How to play against
His primary engage. Move sideways — he travels in a straight line. He'll use it after W to combo the taunt.
RWhat it does
Designates an ally's position as his landing zone. Grants nearby allies a magic shield. Crashes down after a delay knocking up enemies.
How to play against
A global engage tool. When he channels R the target ally gets a shield — expect him to arrive and use E+W immediately on landing.
E → W → Q
Standard engage combo.
R → Follow-Up Engage
Turns skirmishes around.
Flash → W
Surprise taunt engage.

Colossal Smash: every few seconds his next basic attack deals bonus magic damage in an AoE around the target, scaling with his MR. He hits harder the more MR he builds — don't assume the tank isn't a threat.
