Beginner Rule
Watch Katarina's daggers, not just Katarina — that's where most of her damage comes from.
Katarina is a reset-based assassin who thrives in chaotic fights. She wants to pick up Daggers (Passive) to reset her abilities and chain kills together. Many beginners focus Katarina herself and forget to watch where her daggers are landing.
Level 6 – Death Lotus creates huge all-in potential.
First Item – Burst damage becomes threatening.

QWhat it does
Throws a Dagger that bounces to nearby enemies then lands on the ground.
How to play against
Her daggers on the ground are her ammo for her whole kit. Don't cluster — the bounce spreads daggers everywhere.
WWhat it does
Gains Move Speed and tosses a dagger directly above herself.
How to play against
She uses W to quickly place a dagger beneath her feet then E onto it. She's setting up her instant reset combo.
EWhat it does
Blinks to any target — if an enemy she stabs them. If a dagger she picks it up. If an ally she stands nearby.
How to play against
Her E teleports to daggers on the ground. Walk over daggers before she can reach them to deny her dagger pickups.
RWhat it does
Channels a flurry of daggers at the 3 nearest enemy champions dealing massive magic damage.
How to play against
Any CC interrupts her channel. If you have a stun, save it for her R cast. If no CC, back away from dagger clusters on the ground.
E → W → Q → Dagger Proc
Core trade combo.
Q → E → Dagger → R
Standard all-in.
Kill → Reset → Repeat
How Katarina snowballs fights.
Voracity: whenever an enemy champion dies within 3 seconds of being damaged by Katarina she gains a burst of Move Speed and her active ability cooldowns reduce to 0. The reset is what makes her terrifying — don't die near her while she has abilities ready.
