Assassin / Skirmisher
Beginner Rule
Save crowd control for after Alpha Strike (Q) — his untargetable dash ability — finishes.
Master Yi is a scaling melee carry who excels at cleaning up fights and punishing isolated targets. He wants to use Alpha Strike (Q) — his untargetable dash attack — to avoid damage before chaining kills together through resets. Many beginners waste important abilities while Yi is untargetable and give him easy resets.
Level 6 – Highlander adds movement speed and reset potential.
First Item – Duel and skirmish power increase significantly.
Two Items – Can quickly take over fights if unchecked.

QWhat it does
Teleports across the battlefield striking multiple targets while untargetable.
How to play against
He's untargetable during Alpha Strike — never waste CC. He reappears at his last targeted position. Use CC the moment he reappears.
WWhat it does
Channels healing himself and reducing damage taken. Builds Double Strike stacks.
How to play against
He'll Meditate when low to deny your kill window. Interrupt with CC. The damage reduction is substantial while channelling.
EWhat it does
Passive: bonus TRUE damage on all basic attacks. Active: briefly doubles the true damage.
How to play against
True damage means armour doesn't help. HP alone doesn't save you either — the true damage scales off his AD which scales with items.
RWhat it does
Gains massive Move Speed, Attack Speed, and immunity to all slowing effects.
How to play against
ALL slows are immunised — don't use slows to kite him. Use hard CC (stuns, roots) only. Disengage over walls if possible.
Q → Auto → W Reset → Auto
Standard duel combo.
R → Q → Chase
Runs down vulnerable targets.
Kill → Reset → Repeat
Snowballs teamfights.

Double Strike: every fourth basic attack strikes twice. He'll frequently get a double-auto — respect that his DPS is higher than single-auto math suggests.
