Mage / Artillery
Beginner Rule
Be patient when engaging Mel — forcing fights into her defensive abilities often backfires.
Mel is a control mage who excels at poke, zone control, and punishing predictable aggression. She wants to pressure enemies from range while using her defensive tools to deny burst damage and create favorable trades. Many beginners underestimate how difficult it is to engage onto Mel when her defensive abilities are available.
Level 6 – Gains stronger burst and teamfight impact.
First Item – Poke becomes much more threatening.
Two Items – Can heavily influence teamfights through range and control.
Long-range poke
Defensive ability timing
Teamfight control
Punishing predictable engages
QWhat it does
Fires a barrage of projectiles that repeatedly explode around a target location.
How to play against
Get out of the target zone fast — the repeated explosions stack up quickly.
WWhat it does
Forms a barrier reflecting enemy projectiles back at the attacker. Prevents damage and grants Move Speed.
How to play against
Don't fire skillshots into her Rebuttal barrier — they'll reflect back at you. Wait for the barrier to drop.
EWhat it does
Fires a radiant orb rooting those at the centre while the surrounding area slows and deals damage over time.
How to play against
The initial orb root is her setup ability. Dodge the orb — standing in the root with the surrounding damage zone is lethal.
RWhat it does
Strikes all Overwhelm-marked enemies simultaneously dealing bonus damage per stack.
How to play against
Her R punishes you for getting hit by repeated abilities. Disengage after one or two ability hits to reduce stacks before R comes.
Poke Rotation → Re-engage
Wears enemies down safely.
Crowd Control → Burst Combo
Punishes mispositioning.
Defensive Ability → Counterattack
Turns fights around.

Overwhelm: her abilities apply Overwhelm stacks on enemy champions. Her ultimate deals bonus damage per stack. She's building toward a massive R — each ability hit makes her ult more threatening.
