Mage / Battlemage
Beginner Rule
Don't let Ryze freely scale and farm — he becomes much stronger as the game progresses.
Ryze is a scaling battlemage who excels at sustained spell damage and side-lane pressure. He wants to repeatedly cast spells while building mana-based items that increase his damage. Many beginners underestimate how quickly Ryze can deal damage in extended fights.
Level 6 – Realm Warp (R) adds map mobility and playmaking.
First Item – Damage becomes more consistent.
Two Items – Major scaling spike through mana interactions.
