Tank
Beginner Rule
If Shen leaves lane or reaches Level 6, be ready for Stand United (R) plays across the map.
Shen is a tank who excels at protecting teammates and influencing fights across the map. He wants to use Stand United (R) — his global shield and teleport ultimate — to turn fights in his team's favor. Many beginners win lane against Shen but lose the game because they ignore his global impact.
Level 6 – Global ultimate unlocks map pressure.
First Item – Becomes much harder to kill.
Mid Game – Excels at protecting carries and controlling fights.

QWhat it does
Recalls his spirit blade to attack with it dealing damage based on the target's max health. Greatly empowered if the blade collides with a champion on the way back.
How to play against
Move away from the blade path as it returns — the collision empowers all his attacks for a short time.
WWhat it does
Blocks all attacks that would hit Shen or allies near his spirit blade.
How to play against
His spirit blade blocks all attacks near it — from any direction it's facing. Move away from the blade's zone.
EWhat it does
Dashes in a direction taunting all enemies in his path.
How to play against
The taunt forces you to auto-attack him. Move sideways off his dash line immediately.
RWhat it does
Shields a global ally and teleports to them after a delay.
How to play against
His R can arrive anywhere. When he channels R on an ally, that ally gets a massive shield and Shen arrives shortly after — back off from that engagement.
E → Taunt → Q
Standard engage combo.
R → Ally Save
Turns fights around the map.
Flash → E
Surprise crowd control engage.

Ki Barrier: after using an ability he gains a shield. Also after his spirit blade travels through an enemy champion he gains a shield. He shields constantly during fights — burst him between shield procs.
