Mage / Battlemage
Beginner Rule
If Swain activates Demonic Ascension (R), consider disengaging until it expires.
Swain is a battlemage who excels at extended fights and draining health from multiple enemies. He wants to pull enemies in with Nevermove (E) before activating Demonic Ascension (R) and fighting in the middle of the enemy team. Many beginners continue fighting Swain inside his ultimate.
Level 6 – Ultimate dramatically increases durability and damage.
First Item – Sustained damage improves significantly.
Teamfights – Excels against grouped enemies.

QWhat it does
Unleashes several bolts dealing more damage the more bolts hit the same target.
How to play against
Stay to the side of his cone — the overlapping bolts deal massively more damage at close range.
WWhat it does
Opens a demon eye dealing damage, slowing, and revealing enemies in the AoE.
How to play against
Move out of the AoE before it detonates. Getting revealed tracks your position for his entire team.
EWhat it does
Launches a wave forward then returns it rooting enemies on the return. Can pull rooted enemies closer.
How to play against
Dodge the initial wave going out. If hit on the return wave, you're rooted — back up before it reverses.
RWhat it does
Transforms dealing sustained AoE drain damage. Can detonate Demonflare for a burst nova.
How to play against
He drains health continuously. Don't stay in melee range. His Demonflare burst is AoE — disengage before he detonates it.
E → Pull → Q
Standard trade combo that sets up burst damage.
R → Walk Forward → Drain
Controls teamfights through sustained pressure.
E Catch → Full Combo
Punishes poor positioning and creates picks.

Ravenous Flock: champion immobilising effects in range mark the target. He can collect the marks to pull enemy champions toward him and collect Soul Fragments. He harvests your CC on yourself — don't cast CC near him without considering the passive pull.
