Tank
Beginner Rule
Avoid extended trades against Tahm Kench — that's where he thrives.
Tahm Kench is a durable tank who excels at extended trades and protecting teammates. He wants to stack An Acquired Taste (Passive) before using Devour (R) to isolate enemies or save allies. Many beginners underestimate how strong Tahm Kench becomes in prolonged fights.
Level 6 – Devour creates strong playmaking opportunities.
First Item – Durability and sustain improve significantly.
Mid Game – Difficult to duel and remove from fights.

WWhat it does
Dives underground and resurfaces at target location knocking up enemies.
How to play against
He teleports underground and knocks you up on arrival. Move away from where he'll resurface.
EWhat it does
Passive: stores damage as a shield that heals out of combat. Active: converts stored damage to an immediate shield.
How to play against
His shield from stored damage makes him very tanky. Burst him before he stacks his passive.
RWhat it does
Devours a champion dealing damage if enemy or shielding if ally.
How to play against
Point-blank devour removes you from the fight temporarily. Anti-heal reduces his damage inside.

W → Q → Follow-Up

Devour Ally → Save Carry

An Acquired Taste: his basic attacks apply stacks on champions. At 3 stacks his abilities gain additional effects. Three autos enable his empowered abilities — back off before he gets three stacks on you.
