Mage / Burst
Beginner Rule
Avoid getting trapped by Event Horizon (E) — Veigar's cage ability — as most of his burst follows it.
Veigar is a scaling mage who excels at burst damage and zone control. He wants to stack Phenomenal Evil Power (Passive) while trapping enemies inside Event Horizon (E) — his cage ability. Many beginners underestimate how dangerous Veigar becomes as the game goes on.
Level 6 – Ultimate creates strong kill pressure.
First Item – Burst damage increases significantly.
Passive Stacks – Continually scale throughout the game.

Objective control
QWhat it does
Fires a bolt dealing magic damage. Permanently gains AP on kills.
How to play against
He gains AP from farming. Harass him to deny free Q farming early.
WWhat it does
Calls a mass of dark matter from the sky dealing magic damage.
How to play against
Delayed impact — move out of the marker. The impact area is large.
EWhat it does
Creates a cage that stuns enemies who walk through its edges.
How to play against
The stun is on the EDGES, not inside. Once inside don't move — moving into the walls stuns you. Wait for a gap or the cage to expire.
RWhat it does
Blasts a champion dealing massive magic damage scaling with their missing health.
How to play against
Never be low HP near Veigar. His R executes more efficiently the less health you have.
E → W → Q → R
Standard burst combo.
Cage → Team Follow-Up
Creates picks.
Stack Passive → Scale
Increases late-game power.

Phenomenal Evil Power: he gains AP every time his abilities hit enemy champions. He scales indefinitely. The longer the game goes the more dangerous he becomes — prevent him from getting free ability hits.
