Mage / Burst
Beginner Rule
Be careful using dashes around Vex — her passive is designed to punish mobility.
Vex is a burst mage who excels at punishing mobile champions and finding picks. She wants to apply Doom and Gloom (Passive) before bursting enemies down and using Shadow Surge (R) to reset through fights. Many beginners underestimate how dangerous Vex becomes once she gets a reset.
Level 6 – Ultimate unlocks strong pick potential.
First Item – Burst damage becomes threatening.
Teamfights – Resets can quickly snowball fights.

QWhat it does
Fires a damaging missile that accelerates mid-flight.
How to play against
The missile speeds up — it's harder to dodge at range. Perpendicular movement early.
WWhat it does
Gains a shield and damages nearby enemies.
How to play against
Short range AoE shield. Don't engage into her W.
EWhat it does
Summons a damaging slowing zone applying Gloom.
How to play against
Getting Gloom means her next basic attack fears you briefly. Back away when marked with Gloom.
RWhat it does
Fires a missile marking the first champion hit. Recast to dash to them dealing damage. Resets on kill.
How to play against
After she fires R she can dash to you immediately. Dodge the initial missile — if it hits you she's about to arrive.
Passive Fear → Full Combo
Standard burst pattern.
R → Burst → Reset
Snowballs fights.
Poke → Re-engage
Wears enemies down.
Doom 'n Gloom: periodically she becomes Doomy giving her next basic ability a fear. Also she gains Gloom — each time a nearby enemy dashes she marks them with Gloom. Her next attack on a Gloomy target deals bonus damage and refreshes Doom. Dashing near her marks you for bonus damage — dash away from her not toward her.
