Mage / Battlemage
Beginner Rule
Destroy Zyra's plants when it's safe to do so — leaving them alive often means taking unnecessary damage.
Zyra is a control mage support who excels at poke, zone control, and punishing enemies who walk into her plants. She wants to land Grasping Roots (E) — her root ability — before spawning plants that deal sustained damage. Many beginners focus on Zyra herself and ignore the plants doing most of the damage.
Level 3 – Full poke combo and plant setup unlocked.
Level 6 – Stranglethorns adds strong teamfight control.
First Item – Plant and poke damage become much harder to handle.
Mid Game – Excellent objective and vision control.

QWhat it does
Vines erupt dealing magic damage. Near a seed grows a Thorn Spitter.
How to play against
She grows damaging plants from seeds with Q. Back away from seeds in the area.
WWhat it does
Plants a seed lasting 60 seconds. Seeds grow plants when hit by abilities.
How to play against
She pre-plants seeds across the map. Don't walk through brush in her area without checking for seeds.
EWhat it does
Vines through the ground rooting enemies. Near a seed grows a Vine Lasher that slows.
How to play against
Dodge the ground vine root — it's a visible ground-traveling skillshot. Roots enable her plants to attack freely.
RWhat it does
Summons a thicket knocking up enemies then pulling them back in. Enrages plants nearby.
How to play against
Double CC plus empowered plants. Move away from the thicket and away from her plants when she ults.

Seed → Q/W → Plant Harass

Garden of Thorns: seeds periodically spawn near her. When her abilities hit seeds they grow into plants. She has a persistent field of seeds around her — never fight near her without knowing where the seeds are.
